Pet Got Allergies? Clean Air May Help Them, Too!

Do you have a cat, dog, bird or other animal with allergies or respiratory problems? Well, just like humans, it really could be the air they’re breathing. No, they’re probably not allergic to themselves, but they may be allergic to the airborne dust in the house (which contains 200 dust mites per gram of dust, one of the strongest allergens on the planet), or human hair, skin flakes, or human ‘dander’—or they may be allergic or have respiratory sensitivities to the gases and vapors released by cleaning products, paints, solvents, etc. that are in almost every room of every home.

And just like humans with sensitivities or allergies to poor air quality, when you clean up the air with a quality air purifier, you’re likely to see your pet start to get some relief. And we do still recommend that pet owners purchase a pet air purifier, even if it’s the cat, dog, or bird that is having the allergies. Why? That’s because the best air cleaners for pet allergies typically do a better job of cleaning the air in a room than many ‘normal’ air purifiers. Pet air purifiers come with excellent HEPA filters and usually a significant amount of odor and chemical-absorbing carbon that, together, do a better job of removing all allergens & dander, both particle and gas or vapor types.

One example of an excellent air purifier for cat hair & bird dust is the Austin Pet Machine, with a medical grade HEPA filter and 15 pounds of carbon for odors & chemicals. This air purifier can handle up to 1500 square feet with one unit and clean all the air in a room in about 2 minutes flat, as well—all of those excellent qualities make the Austin Pet Machine a great pet air cleaner value.

Cheap or low cost pet air purifiers, on the other hand, often do have a HEPA filter—but don’t have enough carbon or other absorbent material to really make any difference with tough odors like that ‘dog smell’ or cat urine odors.

The low cost air cleaners also generally don’t have strong output, either, which means it won’t be able to filter all the air in the room before you can breathe it, which kind of makes the low cost pet air cleaner a waste of time and money. The other key factor is a good warranty—the best air cleaners for pets usually have a great warranty, too. Buying a better pet air purifier is a much smarter move as it will definitely remove well over 99% of all of the allergens and respiratory irritants that are probably giving your pet problems.

True, you’ll pay a little more up front, but in the long run, you won’t have to deal with the allergies or replacing a low cost air cleaner several times because it broke down or didn’t remove the hair, dust, dander & odors like the advertising claimed it would.

Air Purifiers and Cleaners.com offers an excellent selection of the very best, most affordable pet allergy air purifiers that truly clean the air with HEPA and heavy duty carbon filters so that you can eliminate allergies and respiratory problems the first time. And since we’re an online store, we have very low overhead. And that means cheap discount prices for you, with free shipping, too!

Office Air Purifiers: More Important Than You Might Think

Most of us go to work and don’t think twice about the air we breathe at the office on a daily basis. It’s been shown in research, however, that like most homes, the air in most buildings, rooms, and offices has significant levels of allergy, asthma, and other illness-causing pollutants. What’s worse is that most of us get a pretty big dose of air pollutants while we’re at home and then go to the office and get some more. And breathing these pollutants on regular basis simply isn’t good for our health, and in some cases can be the cause of chronic or recurring illnesses, colds, the flu, and more.

And it’s not just the usual dust, dust mites, mold spores, pollen, chemical residues, etc., that are a problem—the other pollutants that other people often bring to the office with them–bacteria, viruses, colds, flu viruses, and smoke–aren’t anything that you want to breathe or take home to your family. But this is what often happens, from second-hand smoke to Strep-throat, to flu and other viruses, we’re in the same rooms & offices breathing the same air and it’s pretty hard to avoid these pollutants—unless of course you’re one of those smart people using a top-rated portable air purification system.

Having a portable HEPA air scrubber with you at the office is smart for several reasons. Not only will that air purifier help you avoid breathing the pollutants associated with the building, office, and products there, but it will also help filter out the stuff that other people bring with them, as well as odors—which are important to avoid too if you or your family is sensitive to odors.

The best portable home & office air purifiers use certified HEPA filters to remove the tiny particles like dust, dust mites, mold, bacteria and any fibers that might in your office air. And most top-rated portable air purifiers also include a good activated carbon filter to remove chemical residues and odors from cleaning products, copiers, smoke, solvents and many other airborne gases & vapors that also cause health issues with repeated exposure.

To make sure that you choose the best room air purifiers possible, make sure the unit has both HEPA and activated carbon filters, as well as a good output of at least 95-100 cubic feet per minute. Having an air cleaner with an output of less than say, 90, will do some good, but it won’t be able to cycle the air fast enough to filter out many of the pollutants before you can breathe them. Also, since these air scrubbers are designed to be portable, you want to make sure that the air purifier you choose isn’t too heavy for you to move from room to room or to take with you when you travel.

If you’re going to be moving the air cleaner a lot between home and office, or traveling with it, we recommend the Austin Junior series for maximum air cleaning power and portability. The Blueair 203 is also an excellent choice for smaller offices and rooms. If the portable air scrubber is going to used in a larger room at home or at the office, we recommend the Austin Healthmate series, Aller Air 5000 series, or Blueair 650 E for excellent air purification and value.

Whichever air scrubber you choose for use at work or the office, if you choose one of these, you can be assured that you’ll sharply reduce any pollutants that might be present in the air, and you’ll probably feel more energy on a daily basis.

Air Purifiers and Cleaners.com is #1 source for top-rated portable home & office air cleaners that are great for any room or to take with you when you travel. And since we are an online store with low overhead, we pass those savings on to you with cheap discount prices with free shipping for you–every day.

Waste Water Treatment Plants: Fume Extractors Are a Must

Waste water treatment plants use a number of chemicals and other methods to kill micro-organisms in water. And every time these methods are applied, there are always residues from these chemicals and other pollutants like methane & VOC’s that become airborne–not to mention the odors! And without a proper industrial fume & gas extractor or air filtration system running, that creates a continuous health hazard and unpleasant working conditions for those who work there.

And many times, it’s not just chemicals that become airborne. Waste water has bacteria & viruses in it, and these pollutants can become airborne, too—something that none of us need or want to breathe. And a lot of business owners think that if they just have adequate ventilation or a basic air cleaner system, that this will take care of the problem. Unfortunately, that isn’t the case.

To remove the hazards of chemical fumes, vapors, gases, and bacteria & viruses, you have to have an effective system designed to remove these pollutants at a rate of 99% or better. And, in most cases, OSHA regulations require that you have 10-12 cleanair changes or more per hour in places like waste water treatment plants. To get that rate or kind of air cleaning, you must have several fume & gas collectors running at a minimum of 800-1000 CFM. You can’t just vent to the outside or you’ll be in violation of EPA regulations. There’s just no way around it—if you run a waste water treatment plant, you’re going to have to filter the air properly—or deal with a lot of employee issues, higher insurance rates, health care costs, and probably OSHA fines.

For most waste water treatment plant applications, we recommend Electrocorp’s best RSU 48 CC portable commercial fume extractor, with 120 lbs of industrial strength Vocarb carbon, micro-HEPA filter that removes 99% of particles down to 0.1 microns, and a good pre-filter to protect the other filters. At its medium output setting (1000 CFM, which allows for best filtration performance), roughly 10 of these units would properly capture over 99% of all fumes, gases, vapors, & particles, and give most waste water treatment plant areas anywhere from 10-15 complete air changes per hour.

And, the RSU 48 portable fume collector is very portable, and can be rolled around to wherever air filtration is needed most via heavy industrial casters on the bottom. Add a 10 year warranty, and you’ve got a winner.  Electrocorp also has industrial VOC gas & vapor collection systems, such as the Air Rhino VS Carbon fume collection unit, which can be hung from the ceiling if floor space needs to be preserved.

Don’t be fooled by cheaper, lower-quality air filtration systems that say they can capture & remove all the fumes, odors, gases, vapors, & particles–but don’t have at least 60-100 lbs of commercial grade activated carbon, a HEPA filter, and a pre-filter. If they don’t have at least those filters and an output of 600-800 CFM (at a minimum), their claims are not true and you’ll be wasting your money.

Air Purifiers and Cleaners is your #1 best source for top-rated fume extraction systems and other air filtration units for just about any industrial or commercial application, to include waste water treatment plants. We are also an authorized Electrocorp dealer, which is the #1 best-rated fume & chemical collection system manufacturer in the world, with custom commercial chemical fume filtration units and source capture systems readily available.

And since we’re an online store, we have far less overhead than most stores—and that means cheap discount pricing for you and free shipping every day. Which Industrial Air Cleaner To Buy? Start with a Proven Performance and Value

There are lot of industrial air cleaners available that offer HEPA filtration and gas, smoke, & chemical removal. Finding a commercial air purifier manufacturer that has a proven reputation for effectiveness, high output cleaning power, and reasonable pricing can be tough, however. Many of the available air purification units or systems don’t have quite enough air cleaning power to remove the tough industrial chemicals and other pollutants or don’t have an output that is strong enough to comply with OSHA regulations for a certain number of clean air changes per hour—i.e. the output is so low that you would need a room full of air purifiers to get the correct number of air changes, etc.

So what is a business owner to do? Just vent everything to the outside and save some money? Uh…no, better not do that either. When the EPA finds out, they will fine you big time for that, as well. One of the few manufacturers that build quality commercial air purifiers and filtration systems is Electrocorp. In fact, they have been known since the 90’s as the ‘Kings of Carbon’ for a reason—their units have the highest grade of industrial granular carbon that is super-activated to remove more chemicals, smoke and other commercial pollutants that cause poor air quality than any other carbon filter or air cleaner. And, Electrocorp also offers more types of units than anyone else, including HVAC based air purifiers as well as portable industrial air scrubber units.

Electrocorp commercial air scrubbers are designed to help business owners immediately control industrial level air pollutants in the workplace, and they’re great for home workshop owners as well. A lot of competitors sell units that frankly, just don’t have enough output, carbon, or the right type or size of HEPA filters to clean the air properly—and that can mean under-powered air cleaning, health hazards for you and your employees, and increased liability.

If you read the fine print—the technical specs of the air cleaner unit—you’ll see that many of them either won’t tell you how much filter ‘media’ is in the unit in addition to a HEPA filter. That other filter ‘media’ is very important, as it has to be super activated carbon, zeolite or other material to properly absorb fumes and chemicals. And if it only contains say, 25 pounds of that media, that company is likely make some good money on you buying a lot of replacement filters as this isn’t enough carbon to last more than about 3 months in an industrial environment where significant levels of airborne chemicals and gases are present.

That small amount of ‘media’ (that some won’t even tell you what it is) will likely become saturated too soon and actually create more of a hazard because polluted air will be circulating faster because of the air cleaner’s fan—air that isn’t being cleaned because the filter media is saturated. Not good.
Most Electrocorp industrial air cleaner systems, on the other hand, have anywhere from 23 lbs for small rooms to 100 lbs or more super-activated carbon to absorb gas & fume type pollutants for a long time, and that means you’ll save money because you won’t have to replace filters nearly much, usually every 2-3 years on average.

The HEPA filters in Electrocorp industrial HEPA air cleaning systems are usually larger, and in some cases, better since the Electrocorp micro-HEPA for example removes over 99% of particles down to 0.1 microns, not 0.3 as with most HEPA filters. That means the super-tiny, health problem-causing dust, fibers, & particles will be removed, not left in the air to cause issues for your business.

So if you’re a business owner seeking proper indoor air quality control for your industrial or commercial applications, do yourself a favor and get the right industrial air filtration system from Electrocorp, save money, and enjoy peace of mind knowing that the air is clean—and your business is safe.

Air Purifiers and Cleaners is proud to be an authorized Electrocorp dealer offering the very best industrial air purifiers, commercial air scrubbers, replacement air filters, air testing equipment, and much more. And since we’re an online store with much lower overhead than most stores, that means we can offer you quality commercial air cleaners and replacement filters at cheap discount prices with free shipping, every day of the week.

Portable Home & Office Air Purifiers: The Key to Health & Wellness

Modern educated people are do all sorts of things to stay health and well. From eating organic foods, to taking supplements, drinking only filtered water, getting good exercise and sleep, there’s often one area that tends to get overlooked and it may be the primary cause of healthy people getting sick, even when they seem to be doing all the right things—indoor air quality.

Indoor air quality has recently been placed in the top 5 major health threats by the EPA—and that means it’s a really big problem. We typically spend over 90% of our lives indoors, at home, in rooms and offices, breathing polluted air. Polluted air? Yes, studies have recently shown that over 95% of homes and over 80% of offices have significant levels of indoor air pollution from dust, dust mites, mold spores, paint & carpet fumes & fibers, and many other sources. And no, the A/C filter, even the best filters, do not remove very much of the tiny particle type pollutants and none of the chemical or gas pollutants that cause the health issues.

And if humans inhale about 3000 gallons of air per day and 90% of that time is spent indoors, if we don’t have a quality air scrubber running, that means each of us is getting about 2700 gallons of polluted air every day. Now, those of us doing all we can to be healthy and strengthen our immune systems tend to have an advantage, but when the pollutants build up to a certain point, even the most health –conscious will begin getting sick.

For those smart individuals that use one or more of the best home & office air purifiers on a daily basis, however, they tend to stay well and have more energy than their friends that don’t think air quality is anything to worry about. Why? Well, it only makes sense that if one group is breathing air loaded with infectious agents like bacteria & viruses on a daily basis, and other group is breathing clean air every day, which one do you think is going get sick more often?

It’s a lot like water filtration: when we found out that most public water has a lot of things in it that aren’t the best for our bodies, we decided to filter it or drink bottled water. Now that you know that most indoor air is polluted and has even been shown to contain about 200 live dust mites per gram of dust, for example, you’ll definitely want to filter your air!

Which portable air purification system should you buy? A good rule of thumb is this: if it doesn’t have a HEPA filter, a good activated carbon filter, a pre-filter to prevent premature clogging of the main filters, and at least an output of about 175 CFM (closer to 400 is best), you probably don’t want it. That’s because it truly requires an air scrubber with a certified HEPA filter to remove those tiny allergy & illness causing dust, mold spores, bacteria, & other particles—HEPA style or lesser filters just don’t cut it.

The carbon is required to remove the odors & chemical residues, and the pre-filters really do a great job of preventing premature clogging of the other filters. And—if the output is less than about 90 CFM, it will take too long to cycle or clean all of the air in a room, especially with an A/C vent constantly blowing new polluted air from dirty ducts into the room. An output of about 90 CFM will clean the air in an average room (800 cubic feet) in about 10 minutes. Most of your best portable room air cleaners with HEPA filters have an output of 200-400 CFM, which means they’ll clean all of the air in 2-5 minutes, which means the air scrubber will almost always grab pollutants before you or your family can breathe them.

And with an A/C constantly circulating those pollutants, you want a high output room air scrubber to ‘breathe’ them first—otherwise, you breathe them first and that’s defeating the purpose. So you do tend to get what you pay for; most cheap air purifiers have low outputs and cheap, under-powered filters—the best air cleaners have certified HEPA & carbon filters, strong output rates and good warranties, for a few cents per day more. Is it worth a few cents per day to get the most out all the hard work you do to stay well? We think so.

Fume Extractors for Laboratory Processes: Vital for Safety and Maximum Productivity

Labs that do research or have processes running constantly battle airborne substances, fumes, and sometimes bacteria or other infectious agents. Most do have ventilation hoods, but many of those hoods don’t always remove all of the fumes, gases, vapors or other materials before they are inhaled by the laboratory staff. And in some cases, there is no ventilation hood, which creates immediate hazards that threaten the safety and productivity of the lab staff.

That’s where portable chemical gas collection systems can quickly eliminate hazards and help maintain lab productivity. Quality fume capturing units such as those from Electrocorp include anywhere from 23 to over 100 pounds of specially-activated carbon to properly remove tough chemicals, gases, and even particles that might be in the air. And since these fume collection units are portable, they can be rolled around to different areas of a lab to provide effective industrial grade air filtration exactly where it is needed.

Keep in mind, however, that all fume extractors aren’t the same. If the unit doesn’t have a sufficient amount (at least 20 pounds or more) of high-quality industrial grade activated carbon, a good pre-filter system to prevent premature clogging of the carbon filter, and a good CFM output—at least 300 CFM—that fume extractor isn’t going to remove the fumes, VOC’s, vapors & gases effectively. And without enough carbon, the filter will only last a few months, causing multiple expensive carbon filter replacements.

It’s also highly recommended that that you have a HEPA filter in the fume & vapor capturing unit, as well, if there is any possibility of airborne particles. A fume extractor with a HEPA filter covers all the bases by removing over 99% of all airborne chemicals, vapors, and any particles, providing excellent health protection and better air quality for the laboratory staff—which means higher productivity and profits, too.

Air Purifiers and Cleaners is your best source for top-rated industrial vapor filtration units for just about any application, to include laboratories, welding & soldering shops,  or anywhere there are industrial processes running that release harmful pollutants into the air of the workplace. We are also an authorized Electrocorp dealer, which is the #1 fume & chemical extractor manufacturer in the world, with custom stand alone units and source capture systems readily available.

Why the Best Air Purifiers for Pets Aren’t Sold in Major Stores

Ever wondered why the best pet air purifiers or only seem to be found at online air purifier stores, not at PetSmart, Petco, Walmart, or their websites, etc? There are several reasons, but one of the main reasons is the quality features and air cleaning power required to make an air purifier that is effective for use with pets increases the cost of production and that doesn’t leave as much room for profit as these big stores would like to have, i.e. the manufacturer can’t sell it to them as cheap as they want so the big stores don’t buy it.

Companies like Hunter, Germ Guardian, Homedic, etc sell very cheaply made air purifiers to these stores at very low cost, so the store can make a big profit—but comparing them to something like an Austin Pet Machine is like comparing an electric smart car to a Ford Mustang. Sure, the Austin Pet Machine costs more, but it cleans the air and removes urine & other odors and dander about 500 times better. And that’s because it has better quality filters that make it a better pet hair air purifier--HEPA filters remove the cat, dog, bird or other animal dander, hair, bacteria, bird dust, dust mites, etc and 15 pounds of carbon  & zeolite that removes odors like a champ. Compare that to the thin filters in cheap department store air cleaners--big difference.

People that buy the low cost ‘pet odor air cleaners’ usually find that they do not remove odors very well at all, and their allergies are still just about as bad as before —and that’s because the cheap pet air cleaner is only doing a partial job of removing the airborne pet dander, dust, & odors from your room and circulating the rest of the pollutants. These low cost air purifiers usually have a low output, as well, which means that it takes 15-45 minutes to clean all of the air in a room—which means that you’re going to breathe a lot of the dander before the air cleaner can get to it.

A couple of the best air cleaners for pets, such as the Austin Pet Machine or the Aller Air 4000 Vocarb both have an output of 400 cubic feet per minute—which means it removes over 99% of the pet dander & odors in an average room in every 2 minutes. Big difference.

And usually, the low cost air purifier sold at pet stores usually doesn’t last, which means you’ll have to replace it in 6-12 months. After a couple of replacements, you’ve spent about as much as you would have on a quality HEPA pet air cleaner that would last for many more years and do a far better job of removing the dander & odors that cause the majority of allergies, asthma, and respiratory issues. And if you’re looking to clean the air to help your pet with any allergies or respiratory problems they have, a quality air purifier for cat dander & odor, for example, will make a difference; the low cost air purifier from Petco or Walmart probably won’t.

And by the way, you don’t want most of the electronic air cleaners with no HEPA filter, such as Oreck, etc—they don’t work as well, make more noise, and have been shown to create ozone, which is bad for you and your pet. The only electronic air cleaner with HEPA performance and no ozone is the Stadler Form Viktor, fyi.

Air Purifiers and Cleaners.com is your #1 store for the best air purifiers for cat, dog, bird and other animal dander & odors, with quality HEPA & carbon filters and excellent warranties.

And since we’re an online store with fewer expenses than most stores, we can offer you these amazing pet air cleaners and filters at cheap discount prices with free shipping every day!

Electrocorp Dust Extraction Systems: Best Performance & Value

Electrocorp has been known for years as the “Kings of Carbon” for their amazing carbon filters that remove chemicals and odors found in homes and industrial or commercial workshops. Electrocorp is also known for having some of the very best dust collection systems available, as well as the ability to create custom particle filtration units or systems for just about any situation where dust needs to be removed from the air.

Dust collectors are very important to keep toxic fine dust from various materials such as sheet rock or dry wall, ceramics, plastic, and others from causing health problems for you or your employees. Drywall dust, brick dust, and ceramic dust are particularly toxic when inhaled so those applications most definitely need a good dust collector in operation both where the drywall or bricks are being worked with, and in the warehouse where they are stored.

Another benefit of having a quality dust extractors running is that can cut down on equipment maintenance and other cleaning or maintenance costs, since the dust won’t be accumulating, clogging things up and creating a mess—a mess that requires more employee time to clean up. So, having less particles and dust to clean up also means less hours that you have to pay, which helps keep your business more profitable.

Whether it’s a bag filter, or basic dust filter that you need, or a true industrial dust collection system with HEPA filters that you need, Electrocorp has the perfect unit for your application. Home workshops and industrial shops can both greatly benefit from using cyclone or cyclonic dust collectors. Home workshops are often just as polluted with dust and particles (if not more) than industrial or commercial shops because the space is usually smaller with less air flow, which creates higher concentrations.

Cyclone dust collection systems not only have a special cyclonic action that causes larger particles to fall to the bottom of the unit, the cyclone dust collector also uses a pre-filter before sending the air through the HEPA filter. The cyclone action and pre-filters cause the HEPA filter to last longer than normal dust collectors without this initial particle collection stage, which means fewer filter changes and less expense! Electrocorp cyclone dust collectors can also have a carbon filter installed which captures any harmful fumes, gases or odors that might be present, giving you the best air quality possible in your home or industrial workshop.

And anyone that owns or works with woodworking, wood carving, cabinet shops, or sandblasting shops, we highly recommend an Electrocorp cyclone particle collection system or at least a portable dust collector such as the Air Rhino. Portable industrial dust filtration units are great because they can be moved around from room to room, shop to shop, or job site to job site as needed, so that you can make sure that air quality and workplace safety is at its best wherever you are. Some contractors even buy a few Air Rhino portable dust & particle removal units and rent them out at $200-300 a day!

Air Purifiers and Cleaners.com is #1 best source for great deals on Electrocorp’s best portable industrial dust extraction units, and custom industrial & commercial air filtration systems & filters for almost any industrial or home based workshop, job site, or wood shop. And since we are an online store with much lower expenses than most stores, we pass those savings on to you with cheap discount prices and free shipping every day!

Renovating or Remodeling Homes & Buildings? Keep Your Costs and Liabilities Down with Commercial Air Cleaners

If your business is renovating or remodeling homes or buildings, you know there is frequently a lot dust, debris and other pollutants that are released into the air where you’re working. And that creates air pollution that can cost you big if employees or home owners get sick. That’s one reason where a quality construction site air purifier can make a big difference.

Commercial air purifiers have come a long way in terms of effectiveness and affordability. Some of the best industrial air cleaner systems that used to be in the tens of thousands of dollars are now much more affordable, and contain super high quality HEPA and carbon filters to effectively control created by tearing down walls, handling sheetrock, chemicals, concrete, fiberglass, etc.

Portable commercial room air purifiers like the Air Rhino from Electrocorp are especially useful because they have both HEPA and carbon filters, and they can be used for positive and negative air applications, all in one portable unit. Some contractors even buy a couple of extra portable units to rent out for extra income.

Industrial air scrubbers kept on hand at construction sites not only protect you and your employees from health hazards created by hazardous materials, they can also help keep your insurance and healthcare costs down, as well as prevent OSHA complaints and fines. Preventing unnecessary costs and liability is a smart way to keep your business costs down, and profits up where they should be.

Selecting the proper commercial air filtration unit for your particular application is important, however. Start by thinking about what pollutants are likely to be present at the construction site, job site or work shop.

If there are mostly fumes, you’ll need an air purifier unit that has a lot of high quality carbon, usually 20 pounds or more. If it’s mostly dust, you’ll need a commercial air cleaner that has dust filters, pre-filters and HEPA filters to make sure those particles or fibers are removed. If both types of pollutants are present, choose a system with both types of filters.

Next consider the amount of cubic feet of air space to be cleaned, square footage times ceiling height. That will tell how many cubic feet of air space that needs to be cleaned. Next, look at OSHA regulations to see how many clean air changes per hour are required for that application, then compare to the CFM (cubic feet per minute) output of the industrial air purifier you’re considering. That will tell you how many units or what size commercial air cleaner you’ll need to exchange the air the proper number of times to comply with OSHA.

Once you know that you’re in compliance with OSHA and your employees are protected from industrial air pollutants, that will take a lot off your mind so you can focus on increasing profits for your business, not worrying about unnecessary liabilities.

UV Light Air Purifier Systems: Which Ones Really Work?

That’s a great question. There are so many HVAC duct mounted ultraviolet light air cleaner systems on the market now that it’s really hard to tell which ones are the ‘real McCoy’, and which units are unfortunately, simply lower powered cheap imposters.

The most important thing about selecting the right ultraviolet light furnace purifier system is to make sure that the bulbs are at least 36 watts. There are quite a few units on the market that just say ‘ultraviolet light’ or UV-C and won’t tell you what the strength of the bulbs are—and that’s usually because they are less than 36 watts.

The problem with UV-C bulbs that are less than 36 watts is that they don’t provide enough light units to kill the majority of allergy, asthma and other illness-causing bacteria, mold, viruses, etc, There are several species of bacteria and mold, for example that require at least 20k light unit to kill them and without a proper 36 watt bulb producing 24k light units, those germs will not be killed—which leaves them alive and free-floating in your home’s air for you and your family to breathe.

The best UV home air cleaners that install in the duct work of your central air conditioning system start with at least one 36 watt bulb, and even better, with 2 bulbs placed 30 inches apart for maximum germ disinfection. Two 36 watt bulbs provides 48k light units, which is enough to kill just about any bacteria, mold, algae or any other similar microbe, even anthrax and E. Coli.

APC UV or ultraviolet light air cleaner systems are some of the best on the market because they use the same 3 watt bulbs that were used successfully in many laboratory tests, at the University of Colorado, University of Minnesota, and other places. APC ultraviolet light home air purifiers also feature solid state electronics and steel construction, which means they will last and provide trouble-free air disinfection for years.

Air Purifiers and Cleaners.com is proud to be an authorized distributor of quality APC UV light air purification systems and replacement UV bulbs, with certified 36 watt laboratory-strength bulbs for maximum air disinfection power for homes, offices, businesses, and just about any other room or building where there is HVAC or central air conditioning.

Laser Particle Counters: Test & Monitor Your Indoor Air Quality Like a Pro!

Sometimes you wonder if your air purifier or air conditioner filters are really cleaning the air or not, or if the air is really clean in a certain room in your home. Did the new pet add air pollution to your home or not? Or, is new air pollution getting into your home from outdoors somehow, leaking windows or attics, etc? Now you can use an affordable handheld indoor air monitor to test the ambient air in any room or confined space like a professional and know how exactly many particles are floating around in seconds!

Laser particle counters used to be very expensive, but now they are very affordable, thanks to Dylos Corporation. Dylos created the DC 1100 indoor air monitor series to make it easy for home owners and business owners to quickly test the ambient indoor air like a professional for particles that might cause problems, particles such as dust, mold, pollen, even bacteria and pet dander that are as small as 0.5 microns up to 10 microns.

For those allergy or asthma, making sure the air is clean and free of particles can make a big difference in how comfortable you feel in your home or room every day—and help prevent severe allergy or asthma attacks, since it can tell you if you need to change filters or need a better air purifier. For the business owner, sometimes it’s important to make sure that harmful dust or particles are being removed by the air cleaner—if not, it could affect your employees and customers–and hurt your business.

Dylos has several laser particle counter models, all easily portable so you can take them with you to whatever room, building, laboratory, paint booth, or wherever you need to test the indoor air for particles. The Dylos DC 1100 series includes a PRO model that allows you to connect the air monitor to a computer so you can see the test results in easy to read graph format. The air purifier test particle counter model is shielded to allow you to test the effectiveness of your air purifier and give you accurate readings.
Dylos laser particle counters are highly effective for just about any confined space and will give you the accurate air test results you need—fast.

And best of all, the Dylos DC1100 series ambient air monitors are very affordable, with most particle counter units between $200-300, not thousands of dollars. So if you want to test your home air quality or for any other confined space air testing—affordably—Dylos portable laser particle counters are one of the best deals on the market today.

Portable HEPA Room Air Purification: The Key to Clean Air & Allergy Control–Wherever You Go

If you have allergies or other respiratory problems, it’s important that you breathe clean air as much as possible. And when you move from room to room, or travel, you’re not really sure whether the air in that room or area is clean or not, which means you could be in for more allergy or respiratory symptoms. The only way to really be sure that the air is clean wherever you go is to use a quality portable HEPA air cleaner.

It’s especially important to have clean air in rooms or areas where you spend a lot of time, such as your bedroom and the office or work areas, since we spend 8 hours or more per day in each of those areas. And since most homes, rooms, and offices have been shown recent studies to have quite a bit of air pollution (dust, dust mites, mold, bacteria, dander, etc), if you’re breathing that polluted air for up to 16 hours a day, that’s probably where a lot of your allergies, asthma, or other health problems are coming from. So it makes sense that if you use a room air cleaner with HEPA filters to remove those pollutants, you’ll probably be able to reduce or even eliminate your allergy, asthma, or other symptoms.

Top-rated portable HEPA air cleaners use certified HEPA (High Efficiency Particle Arresting) filters to remove over 99% of larger particles and the smaller more dangerous, allergy & illness-causing dust particles, dust mites, mold spores, bacteria and more.

The best air purifiers for homes & offices also usually include a powerful carbon air filter, to remove any chemicals or odors that might be in the air. This is important because many allergies, asthma, and other health conditions are caused or made worse by chemicals, paints, cleaners, & solvents stored in homes and offices that release fumes into the air. Some portable room air cleaners also include UV or ultraviolet light that kills bacteria & viruses, and helps freshen the air.

The most important features to look for in quality room air purification, however, is a true HEPA filter and a good carbon filter; UV or ions are good extras, but the HEPA and carbon will do most of the actual air cleaning in your home or office. And make sure the unit isn’t too heavy. If you want to breathe clean air wherever you go, you’ll need to take the air purifier with you so it needs to be easily portable and not too heavy or bulky.

Some of the best portable air cleaners to consider that are light, easy to use and come with quality HEPA & carbon filters are the Austin Junior series, the Blueair 203, the Aller Air 4000 series, or the Winix P300. Each of these will do a great job for most average sized rooms, and they’re great for travel, hotel rooms, etc, where the air is usually very polluted. For larger rooms, look at the regular sized Austin air purifiers, Blueair 450E or 650E, or Aller Air 5000 series. All of these home & office air purification units are highly portable, top-quality, and best-rated for allergy and asthma reduction. Any of them will do an great job of helping you breathe clean air and control allergies wherever you go.

Air Purifiers and Cleaners.com is your best online source for the best quality portable home & office air purifiers. Whatever size room, office or home you have, we have a portable air cleaner that will do an excellent job of cleaning the air.

Best Rated Air Purifiers for Pets: Austin, Blueair, and Aller Air.

Many pet owners and allergy sufferers wonder which air purifier is best for pets, since there are so many air cleaners on the market, and a lot of different claims. In this article, we’d like to cut to the chase and give you some clear direction on which air purifiers have consistently rated highest in value and effectiveness so that you can enjoy your pets and have fewer allergies and respiratory problems (and less odors) when you’re around them.

The top three brands we’ve seen and tested are Austin, Blueair, and Aller Air. Winix does provide a good air purifier for pets, but it’s not super-effective for removing odors for more than about three months without changing the filter.

In first place is the Austin Pet Machine, one of the best air purifiers for pets with a HEPA filter for dander, hair, & dust control, a 15 pound carbon & zeolite filter for excellent pet odor removal, and a pre-filter to maximize the life of the other filters, plus a strong output of 400 cubic feet per minute. And, the Austin Pet Machine is made well, with solid steel construction and tough powder-coat finishes. Cost: $594. 5 Year warranty on the unit, AND a 5 year filter warranty (no other air purifier manufacturer does this).

Filters last from 2-5 years, depending on use or amount of cat, dog, bird or other animal dander & odors present in the home or room. This pet air cleaner covers any home, room or other confined space up to 1500 square feet. The Austin Pet Machine is best suited for multiple pets, as well.

The #2 top-rated HEPA air cleaner for dog & cat dander is the Blueair 450E. Blueair does an amazing job of cleaning and removing dust, dander & particles with special HEPA filters that remove particles down to 0.1 microns, smaller than most HEPA filter that stop at 0.3 microns, which is better for severe allergy sufferers. The Blueair 450 also has a powerful gas & odor ‘smokestop’ filter option with highly activated carbon that does a great job of removing tough odors and chemicals from pets and other sources, and does a great job of removing smoke & cooking odors. The Blueair 450E also comes with a remote control and automatic sensors that will turn the unit on, off, or increase fan speed when dust, dander, hair, or odors are sensed.

And, the Blueair 450E comes with attractive Swedish styling, steel construction, and a 5 year warranty. Filters last anywhere from 6 months to 1.5 years, depending on the amount of cat, dog, bird, or other animal dander & odors that are in the air. This unit covers rooms up to 375 square feet, and has an output around 240 CFM. So with the Blueair 450E, you get better dust, dander, hair control than most HEPA filters, excellent odor control, a remote and automatic sensors, but smaller room coverage. Cost: $629

And, in third place is the Aller Air 4000 Vocarb Air Cleaner. Much like the Austin Pet Machine, this amazing pet air purifier comes with a medical grade HEPA filter, a 12 pound super activated carbon filter, and a pre-filter system. The Aller Air 4000 Vocarb is also well made of steel, with tough powder coated finishes, and comes with a 10 year warranty. This air cleaner does an amazing job of removing cat, dog, bird, and other animal dander, dust, & odors and handles room or other confined spaces up to 1200 square feet with one unit. Filters typically last 2-5 years, depending on use. So with this pet air purifier, you get excellent dust, dander, & odor control, high output of 400 CFM, and a better warranty, but it costs a little more–$699. This air cleaner is also well suited for homes and rooms with multiple cats, dogs, birds or other animals.

Multiple animals in one area can definitely cause an increase the amount of dust, dander & odors, however, and will cause any air purifier’s filters to become saturated or ‘used up’ quicker, roughly 20% faster for each additional pet in the same home or room. So if your filters normally last 20 months, take off 4 months for each additional pet, etc. You may want to purchase additional filters when you purchase the unit, as well, to get the best filter pricing and not have a decrease in air quality (and an increase in allergies) while you’re waiting for a set of filters to arrive in the mail. Whichever pet air cleaner you choose, the above three HEPA pet air purifiers are our best sellers and continue receive excellent reviews.

Air Purifiers and Cleaners.com is your best source for quality pet dander air cleaners with certified HEPA & carbon filters, to help you enjoy your pets with fewer allergies and respiratory issues. And since we’re an online store with far less overhead than most stores, we can offer you these products at cheap discount prices wtih free shipping every day.

Electrocorp Fume Extractors: The Best in The Business for Removing Industrial Gases and Vapors.

There are quite a few brands of fume extractors or industrial gas & vapor capturing systems on the market, but few have the reputation for having the most effective carbon blends for removing tough fumes & gases, benzene, formaldehyde, hydrogen sulfide, mercury vapor, methane, smoke, even TCE. Electrocorp industrial fume extractors are now being used in thousands of applications such landfills, welding, soldering, and about 80% of police evidence rooms across the U.S.

Starting back in the early 1990’s, Electrocorp quickly became known around the world as the ‘Kings of Carbon’ because of their special carbon activation and granulation processes that created a ‘super carbon’ that absorbs industrial chemicals when other carbon blends fail. Add solid steel construction, superior quality motors and other components, and you have a winning combination that is guaranteed to properly clean the air in just about any industrial or commercial air filtration situation

Electrocorp's chemical vapor filtration systems also offer you the choice of very high output rates or low speeds, which enables them to create the proper number of clean air changes required by OSHA, or run slower to do a better job of extracting fumes.  If you have any kind of fumes in your industrial or commercial business that employees or customers are exposed to, do yourself a favor and check out Electrocorp first--so you can be sure to get the right system, the first time.

Whatever your situation is, Electrocorp has a portable fume collection system or HVAC based extractor that will remove whatever gases, vapors or VOC’s that may be in the air—and they can custom tailor the carbon to remove especially tough chemicals, as well. Many Electrocorp fume extractors come with HEPA filters, as well, to make sure harmful micro-particles are removed as well–and you get a 10 year warranty.

Air Purifiers and Cleaners is proud to be an authorized online dealer for quality Electrocorp industrial gas & vapor extractors, gas collection systems, filters, and more, for welding, soldering, manufacturing, hair and nail salons, and just about any other application.

And since we’re an online store, we have far less overhead than traditional stores, which means we can pass those savings on to you with cheap discount prices and free shipping, every day. Cyclone Dust Collection Systems: The All-In-One Workshop Air Cleaner That Saves!

Cyclone or cyclonic dust collection systems are becoming more and more popular for use in home woodworking shops, wood carving, ceramics, and just about any other application where large amounts of dust and other pollutants are a problem. Cyclone dust collectors offer a lot more value and performance than most normal dust removal units, and this is largely the reason many shop and commercial business owners are switching.

A lot of dust collectors have a more basic or simple filtration system, and only trap the larger particles—which does help with keeping the work or shop area clean and cuts down on equipment maintenance. But those dust or particle filtration units without a good pre-filter and HEPA filters either require a lot more filter changes or don’t remove the more harmful and toxic fine dust particles. Cyclone dust collectors, on the other hand, use a cyclonic or ‘whirlwind’ action inside a cylinder to remove a lot of the larger and medium sized particles before they ever get to the filters.

And since quality cyclone dust collectors, such as those from Electrocorp include a good pre-filter system, the cyclonic large particle removal action makes those pre-filters not fill up quite as fast, which saves you money. And, there a lot of medium sized dust particles that fall away to the bottom of the cyclone’s collection chamber, which reduces the amount of particles that get to the HEPA filter, also. Commercial cyclone dust collection systems also usually include a carbon filter, as well, so that any harmful paint, solvent, or chemical residues are removed at the same time.

So instead of having to buy an air filtration unit for particles, and another for fume, a cyclone system can take care of all of those pollutants in one unit-and that can really save you money. Yes, cyclone dust collectors do usually cost a little more, but the filters last much longer, and you usually don’t have to buy another air cleaner for the workshop, so overall, it’s usually the best workshop particle filtration unit to buy.

Air Purifiers and Cleaners.com is your best source for great deals on cyclone and portable dust extractors, and custom commercial air filtration systems & filters for almost any home or industrial applications. And since we are an online store with substantially less overhead than many traditional stores, we pass those savings on to you with cheap discount prices and free shipping every day.
