Mobile Air Conditioners: How to Use Them for Best Results

Mobile air conditioners are often an effective, affordable air-cooling choice when there is no existing HVAC or cooling system in place or when it would be much more expensive to extend an HVAC system to a new area. Choosing the right unit and sizing to fit the space, however, is very important to getting the cooling that you're looking for.

True ventless portable air conditioners do exist, but they are less effective than regular vented portable air conditioners--simply because they are not moving the hot air out of the space, but recirculating it back into the room for the cooling system to cool again. Can standard portable air conditioners work as a ventless unit, or without venting the warm air outside. Yes, it will just take longer to get the room cooled down and will make the unit work a little harder to keep it cool. So they can be used that way, it's not the most efficient.

Sizing the unit to the room is important, though and you can use these simple guidelines when buying portable no hose air conditioner systems. Get the square footage of the room and multiply by the ceiling height. Let's say 15 x 20 ft x 15 ft ceiling = 4500 cubic feet. 1 ton or 12,000 Btu = 400 square foot coverage at 9'. You have 15', so 1 ton would only cover about 200 square feet (overlap a little for best results). So, you would need 2 tons or 24,000 total Btu to cool the space into the 70 degree range, assuming the room in insulated well. If not, double those numbers to 4 tons total and 48,000 Btu.

Commercial HEPA Purifiers: Shop Air Cleaner & Workstation Filtration System Buying Tips

When it comes to choosing the proper dust removal system for your shop, you know the dust has to be controlled--but how do you sort through the hundreds of HEPA air cleaners out there to get to the right one for you?  The best place to start is to ask several questions before buying an air cleaner, such as: what is the square footage of the shop, is the dust in one spot, everywhere or both?, what type of dust is it, get an idea of the size of the particles, and is the amount of dust being produced or released into the work area a lot or a little?

If you can answer those questions first, it will help guide you as to whether you need a commercial workstation HEPA filtration system that grabs the dust at the source, a shop air cleaner that is generally filtering the air in the whole room, or both. The square footage will help determine how many commercial HEPA air purifiers you will need to get a solid 4 complete air changes per hour (the minimum for noticeably cleaner air and usually a minimum to meet OSHA standards).  It's also important to find out the size of the particles--if it's visible in the air, it's likely that you might not need HEPA. HEPA is for the super-small sub-micron particles that you can't see. If you can't see anything in the air, but people are coughing, sneezing, etc, then you probably do need HEPA filtration.

If you have a large warehouse with lots of dust, you'll likely need several industrial dust removal units strategically placed to keep the dust under control.  Regardless of what system you need, at our online store we offer the best selection of quality dust collectors, with both HEPA and non-HEPA systems, HVAC mounted dust removal systems and more--with an expert staff on hand to help you choose the best commercial dust collection units for your needs, without overspending.

Home Air Purification: A Quick Guide to Getting Better Air Quality-Fast

Home air quality is affected by several factors, but one of the biggest factors is airborne pollutants. These pollutants can be of a particle or gas nature and often pollute the air in homes more than we realize. The combined effect of various types of airborne dust, fibers, chemicals and living organisms such as bacteria, mold spores and even viruses can create a wide range of unpleasant health conditions well beyond simple allergies. The solution, however, is often as simple as buying the right type and number of home air purifiers to adequately purify the amount of air in your in your home.

Getting the right home air filtration system for your needs is hugely important, but there are basic considerations that will point you in the right direction quickly.  For example, you can do some good air quality testing to find out what's there and then buy your air cleaner, which is sometimes more effective but also more expensive. Or, if you're not going to do a comprehensive air quality test to determine what pollutants are there, you can simply choose an air cleaner with true HEPA and activated carbon filters to make sure to cover the majority of particles and the majority of household chemical pollutants found in more than 90% of homes.

The other major point to consider is how much square footage you have and the output of the home air purifiers you're considering. Under sizing the air cleaning system is one of the biggest errors homeowners make. You want at least 4 clean air changes per hour, so you'll need to make sure the air cleaner(s) have a total output that will provide that.  Without at least 4 air changes per hour, you'll be breathing many pollutants before the air cleaner can grab them. Your home air filtration specialist can quickly help you calculate what you'll need to do the job without overspending.

So if you get the best quality filters and adequately cover the space in your home with the correct number of air cleaners, you can eliminate more than 90% of the indoor air quality problems and many of resulting health issues that most people face.  At Air Purifiers and Cleaners.com, we offer the best selection of quality, affordable home air cleaners, all the best brands at the cheapest discount prices due to our low overhead as an online store. Buying Replacement Air Purifier Filters: The Truth No One Is Telling You

Many individuals and businesses use air purifiers to keep the air clean and free of harmful pollutants. Of course, the air cleaning power of an air purifier is only as good as it's filters, and when they are used up or full, this can create a variety of issues. So, buying replacement air purifier filters on a regular schedule is important to maintain good health, but are there cases where you should logically buy them more frequently or less frequently? Yes, there are.  Let's take a look:

Most air cleaner replacement filter life ratings or recommended replacement time is based on an average, with with average filter life based on average pollutant levels. Sometimes, however, there may be more than 'normal' amounts of pollutants, or someone can be more sensitive than the 'average' person (which really doesn't exist because every person is different).

So it makes sense to take the basic filter life and then adjust based on your needs, plain and simple. If it says 6 month filter life but you're coughing and sneezing again at 4 months, it's time to change the filter. This is true for HEPA filters as well as carbon or other media filters that absorb chemicals and odors. Extra sensitive individuals are always recommended, however, to replace filters a little ahead of schedule or as soon as any symptoms return.

If the carbon or media filter says 1 year life but you smell the odors again after 3 months, it's time to change the filters. At the same time, if you get to the recommended time to change the filters and the HEPA doesn't look dirty on both sides, or the carbon filter still seems to be removing the odor (or your chemical detectors haven't shown an increased level of pollutants, etc), the filters can probably go another month and be checked again. Then just check every month after that to see where you are.

It really is that simple and if you follow those guidelines, you'll maintain better air quality and better health for everyone in the area where the air cleaners are working.  At Air Purifiers and Cleaners.com, we offer the best selection of replacement air purification filters for home and industrial air cleaners, all the best brands at the cheapest discount prices due to our low overhead as an online store.
